CupCake

Finals are finally over! It's been a tough few weeks, and it's finally time for me to stop eating everything within reach. It certainly didn't help that there is a very cute bakery across the street from me. Happy Holidays everyone.

Jefferson

It's hard to believe that I haven't posted any photos of DC monuments and architecture. It's been a little gloomy and chilly here these past weeks, but we went out to the Jefferson Memorial this weekend and enjoyed what is left of fall. I should have taken fall photos before most of the leaves were gone, but I feel like fall lasted about a week this year, and there's always the excuse of me being a grad student. Despite the chilly wind, the overcast weather provided some very beautiful light. Enjoy:) Happy Thanksgiving.

Ocean City

Relaxing Saturday at the beach. It was a bit cold to swim, but we saw some dolphins and possibly a shark...

Lilies

Yes, I have a slight obsession with flowers...that is one of my few girly qualities. Peonies are definitely my favorite flowers, but apparently they don't exist in DC. I decided to celebrate the end of midterm week with these lilies. This past week was completely filled with stress and anxiety, but these lilies definitely made it more bearable. These photos were taken in my apartment in Arlington, VA. I promise this blog will showcase more than just flowers. Enjoy:)

Bloom

Just another lazy Sunday at home. I decided to taking advantage of the light coming through my window, and capture what is left of my bouquet. Carnations always seem to last longer than the other flowers.

Philadelphia

A month ago, before graduate school started, we went to Philly to visit Jing and enjoy some cheesesteaks. I must say, the 'City of Brotherly Love' had much more to offer than just cheesesteaks. Quaint restaurants lined the streets of this busy city. Culture and history was everywhere you looked. We decided it would be fun to do a food tour of the city, where we ordered one small dish from each restaurant and ate around the city for two days. Wyatt was kind enough to take some shots of the city while me and Jing were busy socializing. As I continue to sort through my photos, I hope you enjoy the ones taken by Wyatt in this post.

Botanical

Welcome to my blog! As the summer comes to an end, I thought I would post some of the photos I've accumulated these past few months. This summer was super hot. Most days it was impossible to go outside. But at any rate, it was easy to get bored inside during the weekends. One particularly hot weekend, we decided to go to the National Botanical Garden down by the National Mall. Since it was more like a giant green house than a outside garden, we thought it would be semi cool. We took our cameras and got some pretty cool shots of the plants. At least it felt more appropriate to be hot and sweaty in the "rain forest" than downtown DC.
